21 April 1746: The City of Glasgow holds celebrations to mark the defeat of the Jacobites at the battle of Culloden fought on 16 April.
21 April 1943: 30 Luftwaffe Dornier 217 bombers of Kampfgruppe 2, flying from Stavanger in Norway, launched a raid on Aberdeen. Over 120 people were killed and around 10,000 buildings were destroyed or damaged in the attack.
